Your First Visit

We ask that you arrive promptly for your first appointment to allow time to complete some brief paperwork that will provide important information for the doctors about your medical history.

Consultation

One of the most important parts of your visit is consultation, where you and one of our doctors will discuss the pain or discomfort you are feeling, talk about your medical history, explore how and why the current situation may have started, and discuss how your condition has progressed. All of this information is important to help our doctors determine the best steps to alleviate your pain, and identify an individualized, preventative treatment plan that meets your goals – and returns you to a healthy, pre-injury status.

Examination

One of our doctors will carefully examine the area of pain or discomfort using neurologic and orthopedic exam procedures in order to accurately diagnose any conditions you may have.

Diagnosis

Following the examination, one of our doctors will discuss his diagnosis with you. He’ll report what he has discovered during the examination and how those factors could be contributing to your current situation. Patients are encouraged to ask questions during their entire visit, but especially during this phase when treatment options are discussed. Patients who have not previously received chiropractic care can expect additional explanation from one of our doctors during this phase to make sure they understand and are comfortable with the treatment plan he his recommending.

Treatment

Our doctors will combine chiropractic and physical therapy techniques to help reduce your aches and pains. Bridgetown practices Diversified Chiropractic, one of the most practiced methods of chiropractic care. Therapy methods can include the use of hot packs, electro therapy, ultrasound or massage. If needed, additional therapy options will be discussed.

Home Care

Depending on your specific condition, one of our doctors will also provide home care instructions and follow up recommendations to help you reach your goals. It is important to the doctors that their patients understand what may have caused their condition. Before you leave the office, one of our doctors will offer recommendations and suggestions to prevent your condition from worsening or returning. This could include handouts that describe specific home exercises designed by the doctors to strengthen or stretch injured areas to facilitate the healing process.
